Christmas spirit - do you feel it? // Рождественский дух - ощущаете ли вы его?

Where does that joy, pleasant excitement and bustle - the crucial components of the Christmas spirit - lie? (no matter do you celebrate it in December like catholics do, or in any other month)
Faithfull ones will say that first of all, the whole event, the excitement and the expectation of a miracle is connected with the birth of Jesus, while let's say, the less faithful part of society will emphasize the importance and value of the fact that these 3 days free from work can be and even should be spent with your family, sitting at a table full of dishes with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree surrounded by gifts, with the Christmas lights on and candles.
Many people, many various perceptions of this wonderful time of the year.
However, the most striking thing is how the current system - capitalism - has perverted all the original values and attributes of Christmas, because let's remind ourselves again - this is primarily a Christian holiday. People who celebrate it sincerely believe that on this same day two thousand years ago a god was born. And in spite of the fact that I do not belong to this faith or any religion whatsoever, I still think that it's an absolute absurdity that a religious holiday becomes more and more a holiday of materialism and consumption. Christmas is becoming a cult.
(and it's even worse than the usual for us Christianity)
В чем с вашей точки зрения кроется та самая радость, приятное волнения и суета - дух Рождества? (вне зависимости отмечаете ли вы его в декабре как католики или в любой другой месяц)
Верующие скажут прежде всего что все событие, волнение, ожидание чуда связано с приходом на свет Иисуса, в то время как менее верующая, скажем, часть общества подчеркнет важность и ценность того что эти 3 дня свободных от работы можно, а даже нужно, провести в кругу семьи, сидя за ломящимся от количества блюд столе, при прекрасно украшенной окруженной подарками елке, при свете свечей и гирлянд.
Сколько людей, столько и восприятий этого восхитительного времени года.
Однако больше всего поражает то как нынешняя система - капитализм- извратила все первородные ценности и атрибуты Рождества, а ведь это в первую очередь христианский праздник. Люди его отмечающие искренне верят в то что в этот самый день две тысячи лет назад на свет родился бог. И несмотря на то что я уже себя к числу людей верящих в это не отношу, мне все равно кажется абсолютным абсурдом то как религиозный праздник все больше становится праздником материализма и потребительства. Рождество становится культом.
(причем еще более худшим чем привычное для нас христианство)
From year to year, the pre-Christmas situation in Poland looks worse. There's no way you can move through a shopping center due to the number of consumers literally running from one boutique to Zara or H&M already in the first week of December, on the famous Black Friday. I have never grasped the phenomena: do people so zealously want to buy the best possible gift for a loved one that they basically end up buying everything they see, or at the same time do they intentionally buy dozens of things of a doubtful quality of a popular brand for themselves too? No, they certainly have the right to do this, but don't you agree that often this shopping spree transcends all the limits of the reasonable?
And what happens during sales time in society overseas, in America ?? And now in Europe too?
С года на год предрождественская ситуация в Польше выглядит все хуже. Уже в начале декабря в знаменитую черную пятницу невозможно двигаться по торговому центру из-за количества потребителей буквально носящихся от одного бутика типо Zara или H&M до другого. И никогда не понять: неужели люди так рьяно хотят купить самый лучший возможный подарок для близкого что скупают по сути все что видят, или же одновременно покупают десятки вещей сомниельного качества популярной марки для себя любимых? Нет, несомненно у них есть на это право, но не согласитесь ли вы что часто это переходит все рамки разумного?
А что творится во время скидок в обществе за океаном, в Америке?? А теперь уже и в Европе.

On the other hand, people who have really little money, poor families even at Christmas cannot afford such a brands as H&M. For the most part, modern Christmas is created for us, people, who both have money and love new things and who, in addition, like to feel like winners buying anything at a discount (although we all know that all this is really just a marketing move, right?).

And may somebody explain to me, the person who doesn't understand well both Christmas and religions, why do people give each other gifts on the holiday of the birth of Christ? Does this seem illogical to me only?!
Но с другой стороны люди у которых по-настоящему мало денег, малоимущие семьи даже в рождество не в состоянии порой позволить себе такой бренд как H&M. По большей части современное Рождество создано для нас, имеющих деньги и любящих новые вещи людей, которые в добавок любят чувствовать себя в выигрыше купив что угодно со скидкой (хотя мы знаем что все это на самом деле лишь маркетинговый ход).

И пусть вообще мне, неразбирающейся в Рождестве и религии, кто-нибудь объяснит с какой стати на праздник рождения Христа люди дарят друг другу подарки? Одной ли мне это кажется нелогичным?!
For many reasons this Christmas has acquired a completely different look and meaning to me - or rather lost them.
Since the celebration of this holiday (especially in Poland) is associated with faith and religion, going to the church at midnight for Mass, singing songs praising the birth of god, I personally do not feel a strong desire or expectations towards Christmas. Honestly, I used to love it only for three reasons: three free days spent around people, relatives and friends, gifts and all these garlands with a Christmas tree and etc., and, of course, food. For these reasons this year I was clinging to these reasons this year too when I asked myself again the question "Why should I celebrate Christmas this year at all?" Although gifts, as I wrote at the beginning of this blog post, from this list can be already crossed out.
По многочисленным причинам это Рождество обрело для меня совсем другой облик и значение - а точнее скорее его потеряло.
Так как празднование этого праздника (особенно в Польше) связано с верой и религией, походом в костел в полночь на службу, пением песен восхваляющих рождение бога я лично не чувствую ни сильного желания, ни ожидания по отношению к Рождеству. Честно сказать, раньше я любила его лишь по трем причинам: свободные 3 дня проведенные вкругу людей, близких и друзей, подарки и все эти гирлядны, елка и т.д., ну и несомненно еда. За эти причины я и в этом году цепляюсь когда у меня в голове возникает вопрос "Зачем в этом году вообще праздновать Рождество?" Хотя пункт подарки, как я написала в начале этого блог поста, из этого списка уже можно вычеркнуть.
